What to prepare before commissioning a business website
Start with the business goal
Decide what the website needs to help customers do: understand your services, request a quote, buy a product or book an appointment. That decision guides the pages and functionality. You do not need to choose the technology yourself.
Gather what you already have
Bring your logo, brand assets, existing website, service information and any approved photographs. Identify what needs updating. We can discuss gaps before the project starts rather than expecting you to arrive with a finished site plan.
Agree who supplies content and feedback
A clear point of contact makes feedback easier to manage. Agree who approves copy, product information and design decisions, especially when several people in your company are involved.
Ask for a clear proposal
Your proposal should set out pages, features, content responsibilities, timeline and ongoing costs. Tell us about any deadline and any external tools the site needs to connect to. The purpose of a brief is to agree useful work, not to turn you into a web developer.
