Who handles your information
Strydes is a digital studio based in Cape Town, South Africa. This notice explains the information handled through the public website and project enquiry process. Use our contact form with questions about this notice or a request concerning your personal information. Please identify the request clearly without sending unnecessary sensitive documents in your first message.
This notice is intended to explain the process in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). It applies to enquiries submitted through this website and the communication needed to respond to them. A project may require additional information and an agreement specific to the work. That will be discussed separately when the scope is prepared.
What the enquiry form collects
The required form information is your name, email address, project type and consent to be contacted about the enquiry. Optional information includes your company or artist name, phone number, website, budget, preferred timeline, referral source and project goals. A referral selection may also be associated with its referral code. The enquiry record includes its creation time and processing status.
Please provide information relevant to your project. The form is not intended for sensitive personal information or private information about other people. You can leave optional fields blank. A contact phone number is useful only if you want it considered as part of the project communication; it is not required to ask for a quote.
Why the information is used
Your information is used to review the enquiry, respond to you, discuss requirements, prepare a quote and manage related project communication. Referral information helps identify where an enquiry came from and, where applicable, administer a referral arrangement. It is not necessary to choose a referral source to submit a brief.
Submitting a project enquiry is not consent to an unrelated marketing mailing list. If a different use requires your consent, it should be explained separately. Where processing is needed for a subsequent agreement, legal obligation or legitimate operational purpose, the applicable basis depends on that activity and the information involved.
Services that support the website
Firebase supports website hosting and storage of enquiry records in Firestore. EmailJS is used to send the enquiry notification. These service providers process information needed to deliver those functions. Cloudinary delivers website images, and Google Fonts supplies font files used in the build. Providers may process technical request information as part of delivering their services.
Some providers operate infrastructure outside South Africa. Information may therefore be processed in other countries under the applicable provider arrangements and safeguards. Strydes needs to assess those arrangements for the services used; the fact that a provider is widely used does not by itself describe every data location or protection. Contact us if you need clarification about a particular service before submitting information.
Analytics and your cookie choice
Before you choose, Google Analytics receives limited cookieless measurements with analytics and advertising storage denied. These requests can include technical information such as the page URL and browser information; cookieless does not mean no data is shared. Accept enables Analytics cookies. Decline or the close button stops further Analytics collection. Advertising consent remains denied for every choice. Analytics helps understand page visits and interactions such as quote links, email links and successful enquiries. The enquiry event includes the selected project type and budget. Names, email addresses, phone numbers and the free-text project description are not deliberately included in those events.
Your cookie preference is stored in your browser. A temporary session flag helps avoid counting the same successful enquiry twice and expires from use after thirty minutes. You can use the cookie settings control below to change your choice. Closing the notice has the same effect as Decline. Existing Analytics cookies are removed when you decline or close the notice. Declining optional analytics does not prevent you from browsing the public site or submitting an enquiry.
Retention and access
Enquiry information should be kept only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, or for an applicable contractual or legal reason. A project that proceeds may create records needed for delivery, accounting or resolving a dispute. An enquiry that does not proceed should be reviewed for deletion when there is no continuing reason to retain it.
There is no fixed deletion period represented here as an implemented automated rule. Contact us to ask about the status of a particular record or request deletion. Access should be limited to what is needed to operate the service and respond to the enquiry. Reasonable safeguards reduce risk, but no online service can promise that every incident is impossible.
Your requests and concerns
You may request access to your personal information, ask for correction or deletion where applicable, object to processing on a relevant basis, or withdraw consent for future consent-based processing. Withdrawal does not retrospectively undo processing that was lawful before it. Some information may need to be retained for an applicable obligation; if that affects your request, the reason should be explained.
Use the contact form to make a request and identify it as a privacy request. Reasonable verification may be needed before information is disclosed or changed, to protect it from an unauthorised request. If you remain concerned about how your information is handled, you can approach South Africa’s Information Regulator through its official website. This notice may be updated when the website or the way information is handled changes.
